I love my neighborhood.  I live in East Hollywood, right between Sunset and Hollywood Boulevards.  When I stand at the end of my block, I can see the Hollywood sign nestled in the hills above me.  On some days, it is bathed in fog.  It looks just like in the movies.

Okay, I know in reality the fog is actually smog.  I know the smog is actually pollution and a sure sign our planet is dying due to our own insatiable consumption and excessive apathy…but it still looks really cool.  I look at it and think, shit, this is Hollywood.

When I meet people who have never been to Hollywood, and tell them I live here, they often get excited.  They think cameras, live studio audiences, Brad Pitt strolling down to the Starbucks for an afternoon latte

That Hollywood is real.  It does exist.  But then there is the other Hollywood.  The one you don’t see in US Weekly (which I have a subscription to, by the way, and read cover to cover).  My neighborhood is the real Hollywood.   At first I hated it.  Then, one day, it just happened. Just like that.  I woke up and thought, I’m in love with this place.

So this website is a great for me to show you my neighborhood, and show you just why I love this place.

So welcome to the Hollyhood.
