Emily (see Emily Goes Postal) has lived in Williamsburg, Brooklyn for a long time. I mean, before it was even cool. Now the ‘Burg is hipster central…and yeah, there are people who spend way too much time putting together artfully disheveled thrift store ensembles that (if done correctly) look like they found them in a dumpster (and sometimes they do). But there are lots of cool people here – artists, writers, musicians, intellectuals, wannabe intellectuals… crackheads, whores, bums…basically, all the people I love. In fact, it’s much more like the Hollyhood than New Yorkers would probably like to admit.
Emily (who goes by Emo – pronounced ‘eh-mo’) lives on Powers Street. Her apartment is run by the famous Mrs. Mayanne Mancini. Just like Melrose Place on Crack, Emily’s apartment building has an ever-changing cast of characters. She has had more roommates than she can even remember. Even Margaret (see Trio of Tricks) once lived here. Just like Melrose Place on Crack, people crash here until they make it big and move to Manhattan, or buy a house in suburbia, or marry British royalty (yea, it happened to a former roommate) or run out of money and go home to crash with their parents. And since all Emo’s roommates have been chicks, this establishment has been coined (thank you Margaret) -
