I Heart Venice Beach
Venice Beach is where 1969 never died. If fact, a lot of people came there in 1969 and never left.
Venice Beach smells like pot and the ocean. It is a circus that never ends. People don’t judge. They dance for no reason, laugh for no reason, and will say whatever is on their mind (whether you want to hear it or not).
I thought this hippie chick was beautiful, and asked to take her picture. She said, “Of course!”
Even the Pitt Bulls are sweet:

Ask anyone whose gone to Venice if they’ve seen The Tree Guy. Bet they have. The Tree Guy scares the shit out of me. Honestly, it took a lot of nerve for me to film this:
There was a Christian Rock band. No one paid much attention, except this homeless lady who danced like crazy:
I mean, obviously she has mental issues, but still… there is something great about dancing like you don’t give a damn. Sometimes I do it too. And I don’t have mental issues as an excuse (though I’m sure there are people who would argue that point with me). It is the best feeling in the world, just dancing like a crazy bitch. Even on a practically empty dance floor in Arkansas on a Tuesday night:

Lots of people live in trailer on Venice Beach. I’ve been inside one. It was a pretty cool set up. I kind of wish I could live in a trailer on Venice. But only if I had internet. And cable. And a bathtub. Okay, nevermind.
This guy decorates his trailer home. It changes everyday. He is really proud of it. He loves to tell you about the pieces. And the whole thing is kind of beautiful.
There was so much to look at. I was almost jealous of him. He has found his purpose. He wakes up every morning knowing exactly what he will be doing that day…and yeah, obviously he’s crazy, but still…it must be nice to have that kind of direction in your life.
I love this piece. He told me he’s had it since the eighties. For years it was on the dashboard, but he brought it out just for today:
